Im going to be getting a 2013 legacy soon. But I can not get stick with navigation. I was trying to look around if anyone has added the oem navi to a 10+ but didnt find mugh. I was able to find almost all the parts through random sites and eBay.
I REALLY dislike the look of the aftermarket units in the wavy curvy dash of the legacy.

you will REALLY dislike the function of the factory navigation. i opted against it because it could not hold a candle to my old TSX's navigation.

From what he wrote, sounds like he wants a manual transmission and those don't apparently come with navigation..

I can't relate to Subaru Navi system (TOM TOM system??) but I have a Navi system in my G37X. My Tom Tom VIA 1530 (for $105 on sale at Costco in DEC 2011) with lifetime Traffic and Map, generally Blows the Infiniti system away. Yeah, it's a little better aesthetically (7" screen vs. the 5" on the Tom Tom), but the Traffic feature is terrific AND Included. With the Infiniti system, XM traffic which you need to pay extra for was slow and only saved me once from a major traffic jam due to a road closure on my route. I dropped it months ago. Although I have no regular need for a Navigation system going to & from work, Tom Tom offers some aftermarket Clips that can mount the unit on the side of the dash rather than on the window. The Tom Tom due to its size (5") just doesn't quite fit in the dash cubbie slot...
That's my Two Cents....

ya I have no idea why they made it that way. The only way to get a 2010 and up Legacy with stick and navi, is to get the GT model.

Car companies still look at people buying manuals as a cost savings, not an I want one, so they don't offer the higher end options on them.
The new VW Passat TDI is a perfect example, you can't even get a sunroof with the 6spd.
As far as OEM nav, there's a reason you see them for sale.

Get yourself a 2012 LGT with Navi. They're selling extremely slow and you could probably find a good deal.
Or use your smart phone and get a base 2013 Legacy, as that is the ONLY Legacy with a six speed manual now.

I personally think the OEM nav gets the job done.
Is it fancy? Not at all.
Is it cleaner than an aftermarket system? Yes
If you want a clean looking NAV that gets the job done, get the OEM nav. If you want a more functional NAV that is fancy, get an aftermarket or use your phone.

Or get an aftermarket Nav that looks OEM.

Expensive? Yes.

Cheaper? Yes, but made in China.

I like the portability of a farming or tom tom. Oem updates were so expensive on our previouscars, I would check Subaru.

I would get aftermarket. Better yet, if you have an iphone, i would suggest the pioneer app radio and connect it with waze. Live traffic data from other waze users and, if the map area managers are good in your area, a more updated map than tom tom or garmin. App radio2 works with android but I hear the implementation isn't that good. I was going to get an appradio2 but hearing the bad reviews about android connection turned me off.

I have an '11 with nav and I use my android more than it.
It is a nice screen for everything but I don't know if it is worth the money.
