is there anyway to turn this NONSENSE off? WOW of course my MPG will be in the MINUS when i step on the gas! and when i let go of the gas of course i will get the MAX best MPG, but i cannot drive with my foot NOT on the gas pedal!
i find this the worst gauge ever,i sometime find myself watching it while driving just to see how awful it really is!

Are you talking the analog gauge to the far left? Why turn it off? Then you've got a dead gauge sitting there in the cluster. The digital deal can be turned off with the press of a button.

I don't mind that little gauge bobbing around too much....BUT every few days I also get a nice little display on my Nav screen telling me "You are improving at Eco Driving" and a rating .....7/10 or 8/10 the other day. Very informative I can't wait for it to tell me I have attained hybrid status
I suspect the money spent on those two useless displays could have been better spent on something else Oh well....just something else to distract us from watching the road

Yes in all Canadian cars 2012 and newer except for the 2012 LGT. I wonder which is worse, the oem kenwood nav I had in my 2010 and now the 2012, or the pioneer....

What model and year Legacy?

You can turn it off on my 2012 Legacy 2.5i Premium, same as you can on all 2010-2012 AFAIK.

Guessing OP has a 2013 with the new digital readout. Don't think it's the same as the MPG gauge in 2010-2012.
