Weird sound in front wheel. Please help?!

I have a '99 Legacy wagon. About a week ago a noise in my front right wheel started. It isn't alarming like scraping, but instead sounds like an airplane taking off at speeds above 20mph. I just replaced my brakes and they are fine, so could it be a wheel bearing or something else? I want to get this fixed asap (winter is coming). Please help! Thanks

sounds like something is grinding, did you check if the wheels are on the hubs correctly? also might want to check if something is rubbing on the axle

Nope, the wheels are on right and the axle is free to move. Again, it's more of a loud whirring sound, not grinding.

might be the hub then, i would take a look at that
