Repair Curb Rash

Has anyone ever tried to repair curb rash? I have 06-07 spec.b wheels and they would be beautiful but the PO curb rashed the **** out of them. Is there a way to restore them and make it so they can be powdercoated later. Some kind of metallic laced filler or something?

If they are that bad, maybe you want a professional. If they're not too bad a little paint might do. Or use them for mounting snows and buy another set (a number are for sale on this forum).

there is a sweet you tube video using a two part epoxy resin.

It's very easy to do. I've done write ups on it (nasioc) and can be done in an hour. Don't use bondo. Use a metal filler. I prefer a product called Aluminox which is used to repair boats. It can be sanded, drilled and painted. It's a putty that you easily spread over the rash, let drive for 5-10 min then sand smooth. Prime, paint then clear.

Is the rash isn't bad you can sand it out. Or find a welding shop to fill in the rashes.

I used JB weld on my 17's, it's holding up great. Good luck trying to find the paint code for the wheels. It seems to be a trade secret.

Fill in the low spots with metal filler, as others have already advised. Or take off the high spots on a lathe, but be careful not to take off too much metal from the lip.
