Hello,
I recently acquired a 2007 Legacy sedan. It has a manual front passenger seat. The previous owner spilled motor oil on the seat and it has seeped into the foam. Although I have cleaned it with a professional rug cleaner (hot water and steam), there is still oil coming out of the foam. I have made about 100 phone calls to salvage yards all over the country and I can not find a matching seat. I phoned an auto upholsterer and they said that they would probably cut out the oil saturated foam, replace the piece of foam, clean the upholstery and re install it. Since I am an upholsterer (avocation) I am sure I can do the work. Nonetheless, I have removed the bolts from the seat and it is free but all the sensor wires are still connected. Is there an easy way to disconnect them or am I going to have to do the work to the seat while it is still in the car, (without disconnecting the wires?)
