I was wondering what the benefits of tgv delete is on the lgt. Does it make more power or help the car more?

The TGV's open up shortly after starting the car so its not a huge restriction. It does however create one from the rod holding the valves and creates some turbulence. There are benefits although not super extreme. Anything that will help open up airflow will make more power.

Most of the time, people will do TGV deletes to fit big stock location turbos(3" inlet).

I saw a 2-3whp increase from TGV deletes. No 12whp. LittleBlueGT saw similar results to mine.

A lot depends on the pressure ratio you are running. A higher PR should see added benefit from TGV deletes. The gains have been difficult to demonstrate on a dyno, however.

I wanted less restriction and my TGV motors have been acting up once in awhile over the past couple years, so away they go.

If you have the IM off already, go ahead and do it. If not, it isnt worth the time and effort.

I will second that. Minimal gains, not worth the effort unless the IM is off already. Took me about 4 hours to swap mine out.

One of my solenoids is acting up. Throws a code now and then. If it goes, I'm doing the TGV deletes.

After my 05 blew the turbo (and consequently ate the motor) mine would throw a cel. The dealer wanted something like $750 to replace it. I cleared the code a few times and it never came back.

My tuner is writing me up a new code to ignore the TGV cel. That will do until I get around to gutting the TGV's entirely.

I have a spare set of tgvs for sale if you want to gut them without down time, or replace your selonoids.

wow...sorry about that last post...what i meant to say was:

I'm throwing AVCS codes P2016 and P2019...has to do with the TGV.

Question 1: Does anyone have an AVCS or stock TGV I can buy from them? I need the AVCS that goes right in front of the turbo. I broke mine while installing a new turbo. I superglued the thing back together and had no problems with it for 4 months.

Question 2: Can anyone send me a map or tell me a way I can ignore the two CEL's (other thank putting a piece of black tape over the Check Engine light)?

Hope you guys/gals can help!
