I'm wanting to do some Stage 2 mods on my 2005 GT wagon. Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in the Cincinnati area?

Dave,

I'm more or less stock, but have had A LOT of work done at Turninconcepts.

They installed a new turbo when I blew mine last year and did an engine rebuild for me a couple months ago. Tony is the owner. I felt like I bugged them with me incessantly calling to check on the progress on the long involved job, but they stuck with me and they were awesome.

They work on performance subarus. I couldn't be happier with their work.

PM me if you have any specific questions about them or the work I had done... even though I haven't done any performance mods.

Their website is turninconcepts.com

No prob! I hope you're satisfied with them. Their engine build has been awesome and I'm seriously considering other conservative mods once I take care of some general maintenance. What are you having TIC do for you?

Just got it back. I had planned on the most basic start for some increased power- uppipe/downpipe and Cobb tune. Tony recommended, given the history of problems with 05 turbos, that I replace the Turbo as well. From what I'm reading, I'm saving money by preventing a turbo and engine failure! I went for reliability vs. peak horsepower:

BNR16G turbo
Cobb downpipe
Turbo XS uppipe

We also did the 120K service since the engine was open- plugs, brake/coolant/trans/diff. I did the 105 recently at the dealer, so it should be good to go for a while!

I'l probably need wheel bearings before to long and may have some of the suspension bushings replaced at that time.

All in all, I was very pleased. They were very prompt and professional, and I feel that they really listened and met my needs vs. trying to sell me on more than I wanted (my LGT Wagon is my daily driver, not a track car!) I live close by and was able to drop it off on Wednesday and pick it up after work the next day. I'll definitely use them again.

Oh, BTW, it's been raining so I haven't really gotten on the car hard- but I can definitely feel its got more punch. Be interesting to see if the mileage changes (up OR down!)

Dave

Awesome! That's the same turbo they recommended for me and I went with it. Sounds like exactly the kind of mods I want on mine too. Glad to know that they're able to turn that around that quick.
