Seriously though, TPMS bites the big one. You can try aftermarket sensors, but make sure you've got a way to program them.
I Just went through it with my 2008 Honda Odyssey when having it changed over to it's snow tires. Two sensors were broken and tumbling around in the tire. Tried two aftermarket sensors at the tire shop (Alligator brand. $67/ea). The shop messed with them for hours, trying different plug-in computers all to no avail.
In the end, I've got two tires with plain old rubber valve stems in them.
