I know, I know, search. I have exhausted looking for this and just have to ask. Here is my reason.

My tuner says I have a boost leak. I have taken the entire intake system apart twice, installed an uppipe, double checked all hoses and even did a boost test with what I made:

I placed this right after the Maf on the intake tube. I put about 15 pounds from my compressor and the system charged. I saw the intake tube bulge up.

Then I started hearing a Kazoo noise from near the intake. It ws vibrating as well and shortly I found this was the cause:

So, what is this? It is supposed to relieve any pressure and or make a noise like that?

Please tell me what it is and if it needs replacing or any other info.

Thank you.

the important thing is you want to zip tie every vacuum hose you can see and even the ones you can't see.

Take a look through there, you may find it.

This came from the sticky at the top of the 1st forum here news and rumors

Damn I am about to give up on this! Well, not really. I am not sure where else to find a leak.

Everything I can find is ziptied.

Here are my latest LV's

Next time just use a pint size paint can stuck in the hose off the air filter box, and pull the small hose off the BOV, give it a short blast of air, put your thumb over the hose and listen for leaks.

That's how I found my oem tmic was leaking.

The inlet tube isn't meant to be under pressure. You applied pressure to the wrong side of the EVAP purge solenoids as well as the crankcase. I am not surprised you heard funny noises. You should be applying pressure to the throttle body hose to check for manifold leaks. But you would have to remove the timing belt to get all the intake valves closed at the same time. You can leak check the intercooler off the car.

The hard plastic peice is for the EVAP purge system. It allows the fuel tank to vent into the inlet hose when boost is not present.

I don't see anything wrong based on your LVs. Your IAM is at 0.75 most likely because you recently reflashed your ECU and it just hasn't increased it back to 1.00 yet. Why does your tuner think you have a boost leak anyway?

Good to know about the way I did that. I am still learning but that is how you learn I guess. Thanks for the info guys.

As for the tuner he told me I had a leak when I installed his base log and after my first logs and LV that I sent him. Now I will say this that I have no doubts. I am just not able to find a leak.

I need to learn how to read these parameters from the LV's so that I am more informed.

Based on what I sent today I will have a new map tomorrow he said.

Disclaimer - In no way would I be inconsiderate of the "tuner" and insinuate anything as I am not. I am simply relaying what I am told. I am new to this "find a boost leak" problem.

Thanks.

Yup, glad to say after seeing these same lvs earlier this afternoon we are ready to get moving on the tune.

The first learning view showed the trims as follows with stock intake and everything else prior to flashing my basemap.

A = -9
B= -6
C= -7 or so and
D = -5.6

These new learning views look great and 100% normal now so what ever was leaking is buttoned up now.

Ah, yes, if the OP had posted those original LTFTs, I would've suspected that as well. Trust Cryo, he seems to know what he's doing.

I absolutely trust him that is why I placed a disclaimer. Nothing but good things from his services.

On a side note we flashed the 1st revision yesterday and logged. New LV's as well. Car seemed much better. 2nd revision just hit my inbox so that will be soon.
