With the announced release of the redesigned 2014 Forester (nice and aggressive) and the available 2.0l direct injection, turbo charged, 250hp (and meeting 2014 epa requirements for fuel economy) engine...
Is this the rumored power plant for a BRZ STi???

There is no more hood scoop for the XT trims in regards to the next generation of the Subaru Forester. Subaru said they removed the hood scoop for a more mature look. Multiple car reviewers like Autoblog and MotorTrend also say that Subaru removed it for the aerodynamics but Subaru hasn't confirmed or denied that.
As for the intercooler for the 2014 Subaru Forester, just look at these pictures.

^ We saw how well that worked on the Speed6. Ducting under the hood, yeah, roit!

So that first post wasn't sarcasm, correct? Because the second post is telling me you're not being sarcastic.

First post was sarcasm directed at Mazda. Subaru engineers typically over-engineer everything which makes me more confident in their solution... but I'm still concerned that they went with a ducted approach with even more of the airstream running over a hot radiator and engine. Seems like heat soak would be even more of an issue than current TMIC setups.
DO really like the idea of the DOHC 2.0DIT, and expect it to be as stout as the 3.0/3.6 engines with the sealed timing chains.

So you're saying that the hood scoop delete was a good idea compared to the 2014 Subaru Forester XT setup?

Anybody got a sale date on the new Forester, as the wife's CR-V is long in the tooth and needs to be replaced? She'll be quite happy with the CVT and won't care about heat soak as she only wants to get around other people, not set low ET.

Subaru of America has said to expect late February to early March.
