I'm trying to get to the root of why my car hesitates/stumbles/runs rough in a certain RPM range. I already unmarried my AP and the ECU got back to a stock-ish map, but I'm pretty sure that I wrote over a custom tune of some sort when I flashed to Stage 1 so I don't know what the AP flashed back in. If I can get it back to a verified OEM map, it will eliminate one more variable (Cobb) in trying to figure out the running issue.

Let me know if you can help out. FYI, I'll be out of town for work 12/3 through 12/7, but either tomorrow or next Saturday onwards I should be around.

You might be able to find the stock map on Cobb's website

They have what they call "Stock Mode" listed as a download. Feel free to correct me here, but my interpretation is that this is their idea of stock, not an actual factory ROM, and therefore may carry some of the same attributes/artifacts as their OTS tunes.

The car runs like crap between about 1900 to 2500rpm.

I actually had it in to 6Star right before Thanksgiving. They seemed to think that the running issue might have been plugs, and since they include them in their 90k service I bit the bullet and went for it since my car has 98k on it now. Unfortunately, it didn't improve the way the car runs.

I've been posting progress in here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...-182559p3.html

Ok. I've had this before. It is something that lives on the throttle body, idle control module or something of that nature. Also, if there is a code of some sort it would help. Also check the coils.

No codes. It is incredibly frustrating that the On-Board Diagnostics aren't diagnosing something that is obviously wrong.

How did you determine that the problem was with the TB/ICM?

I was thinking coils, too, but without even an intermittent misfire code I am hesitant to condemn them. Is there another way to check, like maybe measuring resistance across the primary and secondary sides?

Not for any extended period of time in the 3,000 miles or so that I've driven the car. I can't speak for what happened prior to that.
