Am considering purchasing my FIRST Subaru. Found a private seller, who is selling his 05 regal blue Legacy GT limited. Car has 83,000 miles with 20K on a rebuilt Turbo /transmission/shortblock. Has a accessport with a current stage 2 map loaded. Test drove it yesterday- run great, very clean. He did mention the "Pedal position sensor" is supposedly temperamental and will go into limp mode. Has happened 5 times since the beginning of spring. To fix would be around 500-600 dollars. He is asking 12k with the accessport. (Books around 14k?) Does this sound pricey to anyone else with the pedal position sensor being bad? I have done research but would rather have Subaru experts advice/ opinions. Any and all help much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome,

Simply thank him politely, and go, continue your search somewhere else. Shopping for the car of your choice is always fun.

You say the price is $2K below book and the sensor fix is $500-$600. Doesn't that answer your question (affirmatively) if you like the car?
