I was about to finish up my turbo install last night, but I decided my stock inlet hose is to messed up from me acting like a caveman when I took it out. Just was curious which one I should go with. If this is a common topic I appologize in advanced, but I did a quick search and didn't see a whole lot. Thanks in advanced.

OEM replacement ($90). Don't bother with aftermarket.
Do not, under any circumstances, go with a GMS. It is terrible fitment from what I've read.

The stock ones tear pretty easily. If you're going to swap turbos a few times more you'll tear another stocker, and it's worth going aftermarket for durability. I just ordered a Perrin for this very reason... mine is torn and I expect to test more turbos. Stay away from junk like GMS, FMS etc. as compsurge mentions.

Agree. Go Stock. The GMS does not have the "jog" at the turbo end.

I'm thrilled with my Perrin. Easy install great fitment. A lot if them cave in but I've yet to see that with Perrin.

FWIW, my new OEM replacement felt much sturdier at the turbo end than the unit that came off the car with ~100k on it. With proper care taken when torquing the worm clamp, I don't expect any issues.

Thats because the oem degrades with time and heat cycles.

I just had a perrin put on my 08 Gt and it is nice and mated up rather well with everything. I did hear if you are looking to push over 20psi the perrin may collapse. I dont know how true that is but is something to look into.

Any walkthroughs that show step by step intake manifold removal would work. Once that's off its just unplug vac line and put new one in.

I've not heard that before and I'm running 22psi now. *crosses fingers*

If you mount the turbo on the up pipe without the studs, it's much easier to install the turbo without damage to the inlet hose. The bolts are the same ones that hold the up pipe bracket to the block.
Oh, I also went with a stock inlet hose.

I think if you torque it hard enough to seal, it gets squished. Remove / replace it a few times, add some heat-cycling... it tears. If you're going to fit it and forget it, get the stock part. I will be doing more turbo swaps in the near future so a new stock one will get trashed, no matter how tender we are with install.
