If you look at where the manual tells you to lift, you will notice it is doubled up thickness in a small section of the pinch weld on all 4 corners of the car. That small section is where your factory jack goes. I always use a good solid subframe to jack at.. The general rule I use is, if it looks solid, I put the jack under it and watch it as it goes up. You will be able to tell right away if it's not right. Jacking on the subframes on a Subaru is safe, just make sure your jack is square under the car. A factory service manual will also have lift points listed, and you could use those.
