Just bought a 2013 Legacy Premium with a standard radio. I've parried my iPhone 4S with the new iOS and everything works fine but it automatically starts playing music from my iPhone as soon as I turn the car on if the aux button is pushed (even if music is turned off on my phone). This seems to be a Subaru-specific issue as this doesn't happen when I get into my other vehicle (a Ford F150). Anyone know of a way to change the default so that I have to manually turn music on?

Thanks!

It did this with my blackberry all the time, I hated it, so I unpaired it. With my Samsung Galaxy it doesn't do this and with my iPhone 4S with ios5 it didn't as well. I haven't paired my iphone with ios6, so I can't speak if it will do it.

I didn't find any way to turn it off, other than setting it so it is only a phone in the system (not an audio player/phone combo).

Good luck.

It does this with my htc one x. I like it since I don't listen to the radio much. I guess it would be annoying to have the music program open up every time you enter the car tho.

I love how it plays any audio. I play dark knight rises with surround sound in the car lol

Really annoying thing with the Subaru! I usually listen to Pandora and use the USB cable from my iPhone, so I almost never use the Bluetooth except for calling. Well if Pandora is not ready, every time I start my car I get Abracadabra (Steve Miller Band), while a great song I am growing to dislike it thanks to this. Not to mention if I get gas, when I turn my car back on the bluetooth overrides the USB cable so I have to go into Pandora and switch its source to USB...

Subaru really needs to provide a fix for this.

On the nav unit, it only does this if you leave it on the "Bluetooth" audio setting when you shut the car off. Nice feature for that specifically when you are running errands.

I have heard of other Subaru's like the Forester doing what you describe, and that would be annoying.
