So I decided to sign up on here after reading a metric tonne of useful info that I can apply to my Legacy.

I picked up an old 2.2L non-turbo 96 (partially due to my preference for older cars, partially because it was cheap and needed attention, can't turn away a project!) not too long ago, and it's currently proving to be more of a project than I had expected.

From the go it's had some interesting twists, seems the previous owner overfilled the oil slightly, which may or may not have caused the blown head I'm almost positive it has, though recently it's also picked up a huge loss in power to go with it, the ECU seems to be running limp (which I believe may be due to running the car low on fuel and clogging up the filter), I believe that triggers the ECU into switching off the power mode. (Automatic transmission).

So my current projects are figuring out if I can replace my HG with one of the WRX MLS gaskets (which after speaking to a local subaru specialist, is possibly an option), whether it's one or both banks that need doing, finding and fixing my power steering leak, pulling most of the front end off to find my squeaking part and eliminate it, Hopefully just replacing my fuel filter in order to return some of it's power and be able to actually drive it again... And then finishing off a general service before I start tinkering properly with it. And possibly finding and sorting an exhaust hole... Otherwise the car is just unusually loud.

Seems most people just refer to that sort of work on a car as a "Lemon".
Having said that, it's a great car otherwise, and suits my future plans pretty well also.

tl;dr.
Hi, I'm fixing a Legacy. Argh.
