My customer's car is a 05 legacy with with stock head unit and door speakers. He added aftermarket Alpine PDX 600.1 amp and Alpine Type R 12" sub woofer to the oem system a few years ago. He decided that he wanted more from his audio system by doing a full SQ build with the highest quality products for his budget. Since this is his daily driver he needed the car for work and could not leave it for a extended amount for time. So Im working on the car in stages. So it will take 3-4 trips to the shop to complete the build. Also he lives 1.5 hrs away from the shop.

Goals for the build
- Achieve high level sound quality and get loud when needed.
- minimal trunk space lost and retain stock look and spare tire.
- keep all panels stealth in appearance

Equipment
- JVC KW-AV60 6.1" double din dvd/cd head unit receiver
- Illusion Audio Carbon C6 2way components for the front stage( Backed ordered should be here by 3/15/13
- Arc Audio Black Series 12D4 12" subwoofer
- Arc Audio KS 300.4 4channel amp for the component set in BI-amp mode
- Arc Audio KS 300.2 2 Channel amp bridged to one channel for the sub

Moving onto the trunk area where the sub enclosure and amp rack will be located. I built the enclosure in two parts. I started with the lower, by building a foundation mold. but without the car be present I had to come up with another ways of doing this. I Had four circles left over from another build that I could use for the lower part of the box. Since I had four, i decided to do two boxes at the same time just in case someone in the future would like something similar in their legacy.

Foundation is complete, now it time to wrap it with 1/8 black trunk liner that
will soak up the resin very well.

The mold is now soaked with resin and then sanded after fully cured.

Moving to the upper part of the enclosure that will sit on the foundation mold.

time to route the circle out where the sub will mount in the install

Now it time to move back to the lower part of the enclosure by routing out the top

Sounds like it will be a decent build.

But in my head, I'm wondering why someone would do 3-4 trips to get it done. In my head it would be cheaper overall to rent a car while you work on it - especially if the shop is 1.5 hours away. That is just me though, and everyone can choose to do what they'd like to in life.

Nice, I only run bandpassed rear fill in my Z, with the front stage taking precedent. the LGT will just be a basic 4 speaker full range deal. MOAR PICS!!!

I don't run any rear fill in my LGT either and I'm really happy with it.
