I'm no mechanic, so easy lol
Sitting in the library parking lot w/ the vehicle running, & I start hearing a clinkering noise from the engine bay. I hop out quickly & pop the hood. Holy Batman, one of my belts is fraying.
Here is a reference picture below. NOTE: I just took this from google images.
As you can see, there are two belts located at the front of the engine. Each of these belts are ran off of 3 pulleys each. The belts share 1 pulley together. This specific pulley is the lowest pulley in location.
One belt runs towards the driver side of the engine bay. This belt is connected to 3 pulleys (as noted above).
The other belt runs towards the passenger side of the engine bay. This belt is connected to the alternator & is connected to two other pulleys. This is the belt that is broken & is the belt that needs replacing.
The OEM belt lists these specs: 809218340, 5pk874, R34-8
I walked down to Advanced Auto Parts & they gave me this belt: DAYCO Poly Rib. It reads "5050345" on the cardboard box. The belt itself reads: 5PK0875, 5050345, 5PK0875, 5050345, 038244122936
The #'s don't match up, & the lady helping me didn't seem to know much about auto parts.
Cool, I just found this
