So on saturday i installed my swift lowering spings and now my rear suspension, when going over normal road bumps, makes a weird rattling sound. Ive gone through making sure all nuts are tight. What is the problem, how do i fix it. or is it just a lowering spring issue (ive never had just lowering springs before)

Rattling? Did you check your top hat nut along with the two top hat studs?

i did but i have now idea on torque value on those i just counted threads. thinking about it now probubly not a great idea due to the fact that the new springs arnt the same height.

How did you tighten it? Did you use a hex key to hold the shaft?
I used a vice grip on a long impact socket (cuz there are more grip for the vice grip) with the long hex key coming out the middle of the socket.

Thats exactly how i did it i got about 7 threads on all the top hats. the same as they had before i messed with them. Once i uncompressed the springs they strut assembly was very tight so i really dont think thats the problem.

Hmm...maybe you should have a passenger record and track down the rattle and upload it to youtube.
My Swifts are completely OEM silent.

I just hand tight it as much as possible. I couldn't tell how much torque I have on it by the vice grip I tightened it with.

Did you leave any tools laying in the trunk?
Did you reattach your RSB end links?

no, there isnt any tools in the boot. i reconnected everything i took off to install the struts im not sure what RSB end links are.
the noise reminds me of when i blew an old set of coil overs on my nissan s13. the oil blew from the strut and just bounced on the spring, but this is not as violent or nearly as loud.

Rear sway bar end links, use your imagination. Usually you have to disconnect them to drop the control arm down enough to remove the spring/strut.

sorry im not afraid to sound like i dont know shit and be 100% sure of what your talking about then to leave it to my shitty guess work. im sure that all nuts and bolts are tight
Im just going to take it to a shop i have access too, and tighten the top hats more and re check anything again, not like it wasnt already the planning to recheck torque after a week and realign the car.

i also had encountered some intermittent strange squeaky noise coming from my rear suspension before when I go pass uneven pavement. However this seems to have gone away now after changing my suspension to coilover. So im sure it should had something to do with your strut/spring.
