So... This is driving me NUTS!!! A while back I threw a P0037 and start getting HORRIBLE gas milage as well as my car ran like poop. my investigation looked like it was the rear02 sensor... so I ordered a used on off a member on the site... that solved my problem for about a month, until I threw another 0037 code...

I didn't have the time to deal with it so I just left it for a while...

Well recently I got my sh!t together and ordered an brand new rear 02 sensor figuring the used one was close to going bad. So today I did my brakes and went ahead and put on the new rear 02 sensor and reset the battery to clear any codes...

So I just fired it up... and now I have a new code... in addition to my same p0037.

P0852 - Neutral Switch Input Circuit High
P0037 - Rear O2 Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low

I couldn't find anywhere that the wiring looked bad... everything looked fine to me... this is driving me nuts... I want my car back!!!!

I have a stage 2ish car... Downpipe, uppipe VF52, upgraded Fuel Pump and Injectors, and a pro-tune.

Any ideas... I couldn't find much on the forums about the P0852 code.

I vaguely recall something about an issue with the neutral switch in 05s that had Subaru TSB for it, but I don't remember the details. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Since the P0037 come back after replacing the sensor, I'm guessing your sensors are actually fine. Did you take a close look at all of the connectors between the sensor and the ECU? I know there's one that's a foot or two away from the sensor itself but I'm not sure if there are others.

Circuit Low" sounds to me like an open circuit. (There's also Circuit High, which I suspect means a short.) Can anyone confirm or dispute? If I'm right, disconnecting and reconnecting the connector a couple times might be all it takes to get some crud off of a dirty contact.

Thanks!

P0037 got cleared when I discovered it was unplugged closer to the engine!!

<<<<don't worry I made my wife smack me in the back of the head for this one>>>>

So I reset the ECU but about 15 min of driving and the 0852 came back.
