My name is Greg and I am an American who is considering coming to Australia in order to attend the University of Melbourne. I am currently serving in the United States Army and will have my GI Bill to cover some of the costs, I hope. Now, I understand that I am on a car forum, but I am getting to that as well. I am a car guy, specifically imports, but I know that the car world is very helpful in all walks of life in America so I was banking on that to be the case here as well.
So, on to the things I need help and advice with. What is University like in Australia? Are there dorms? What are they like? Would you recommend getting a studio apartment? Is anyone familiar with the cost of living in America, if so, how much different is it more or less? Would you recommend purchasing a vehicle? (see what I did there) What is the cost of ownership on a Skyline BNCR33 GT-R? Or an R32 GT-R? Or a Legacy GT STi? Getting a job, should I or can I even get one on a student Visa?
If anyone on here has any of this information, I will love you forever! If you guys can think up anything else that I may need to know or look into, that would also be really cool.
Thank you for your time,
SPC. Gregory E. George
