Up for tentative sale is my 2005 Saab 9-2X Aero, 5MT. For those that don't know, it's essentially a Subaru Impreza WRX. It's Satin Gray (silver), black and white leather interior, heated seats, moonroof, etc. It has every option that was available on these cars, and is very rare, especially with these packages. Most Aero's you find will be cloth interior, no sunroof, 16 inch wheels, and in rough condition. I found a car that I am interested in possibly purchasing, and my motivation to sell this car will depend on how everything unfolds with the other. I still love my 9-2X, and would be more than happy to just keep it. It has high miles, currently at 172,xxx, basically all highway. As a way to show that it really is all highway miles, the car is still on its stock clutch without slippage. The previous (first) owner drove from NJ to VT multiple times every winter for snowboarding, so he racked up the miles fast. If you couldn't see the odometer, the car looks and drives like it has 70k on it. Current asking price is the kbb private party value of $7,300, including all of the modifications. I understand that the miles are high, but to the right enthusiast, it is still worth it. It is very difficult to find a fully loaded 5MT aero in condition like this
The car is in fantastic shape overall. The paint still looks great, and the interior is in very good condition. The previous owner was an adult enthusiast and was meticulous with the maintenance of this car. The front bumper has rock chips from highway driving, a small dent in the hood, and scrape in the rear bumper. The pictures will let you see the overall condition of the car, and it is well above average. All recent maintenance is up to date, timing belt and water pump were done at 110k. Oil is changed every 3,000-4,000 with fully synthetic. I also recently had the transmission flushed at Subaru with OEM fluid and put new brake pads and rotors in the rear.
Current modifications are as follows:
Cobb AP V1 (Stage 1)
STI Up Pipe
Brand new KYB GR2's
Tein H Tech's
Group N tophats (front) Kyb rears
Ixiz rear shims
Flowmaster Axleback (or stock, or STI, have all three)
Kartboy STS
Rear stabilizer bar
Delrin Shift Knob
07 STI Head Unit w/ Aux
Blaupunkt self powered sub (removable in under 10 seconds)
20% Tints
Custom fit floor mats
Rear Cargo Mat
Dimming Compass Mirror
Current maintenance/repairs needed are as follows:
- Passenger side front axle - I just found that the boot is split open and slinging grease. Aftermarket axles run $60-$120. Odds are this will have been replaced with an OEM axle before I sell the car anyway.
- Turbo still works fine, but is consuming some oil. It has 172k on it, so I imagine its due for replacement in the near future.
- Small oil leak from the oil pump gasket, and valve cover gasket.
None of these things are big deals, I just want to have full disclosure with my listing. All could be done for a few hundred bucks if you feel like tinkering yourself.
These pictures are from a couple weeks ago
These pictures are a few months old, the front sits a tiny bit lower as I had H&R springs at the time. It's about half an inch higher now in the front.
I can get more pictures if anyone would like, just let me know. Also, I will entertain trades depending on what it is. For reference of what I want, the car that is causing this post is a 2005 Volvo S60R.
