I was working on my car today, looked down at the brakes for the very first time, I noticed the calipers are twin pistons. Then I stepped back, and noticed the rotor is actually not that small. So that got me thinking, do I have LGT brakes??!?

I got my rulers out and found:

They are indeed 29mm thick, and about 11.4" in diameter!!!!

Can someone with a 2010-12 2.5i confirm this is what they have? I was led to believe the 2.5i's have the smaller WRX/Impreza front brakes.

The 2.5i has ventilated 11.6" fronts and solid 11.3" rears

The 2.5GT and 3.6R have ventilated 12.4" fronts and ventilated 11.4" rears.

The 2.5i has the same brakes 2010-2013.

Nope, just turns out you have competent brakes to begin with.

For some reason I thought the 2.5i brakes were not ventilated. Dunno?

Only the GT and the 3.6R have ventilated discs in the front and rear.

2.5i has ventilated discs in the front only.

*Edit, didnt see Dr123 already said so*

So are my front rotors the same size as the WRX? The part that threw me off was the twin pistons and the 29mm thick. I thought they are only 24mm, and single piston.

I wonder if I can still run the 06-07 WRX calipers. They make changing pads for the track a snap.

What kind of tracking are you going to do with your 2.5i?

You should be able to run WRX calipers with the WRX rotors.

Don't waste your money. Just get a good set of pads, ss lines and your good to go.

It's just an option if I want to swap race pads and street pads. Only if I come across some cheap calipers though.

But definitely better pads, ss lines, and hotter brake fluid before that.

The kind that involves heavy brakes, and a lot of quick turning.

I think you mean 29mm thick. The diameter is 290mm which is 11.4in.
