Anyone want to help me with the Jazzy mod? I will buy beer, root beer, truckers crack, whatever you're into!

I am in Woodbridge for anyone interested.

That's too far for me to come help, but it's a pretty easy install, especially if you've ever removed a head unit work on any other cars.

The steps are basically remove head unit, open up head unit, plug in jazzy mod, put head unit back together, run auxiliary cable, reinstall head unit.

Removing the head unit on this was pretty similar to the steps in my impreza and miata, so I was comfortable doing that. Once the head unit was out I was a little nervous about disassembling it, but the jazzy mod instructions do a good job detailing how to open up the head unit and install the mod.

Is there soldering involved? Normally that's when I burn my fingers and give up.

Nope, no soldering. I think the pre-jazzy mod option for an aux in required soldering, which is what made the jazzy mod so popular.

Once the head unit's out, you just remove a bunch of screws to open it up - all detailed in the instructions. The main circuit board is mounted vertically behind/on the radio face. The CD player is a separate assembly which can be removed from inside the radio, and has its own circuit board. There's a ribbon cable that connects the CD board to the main board. You unplug the ribbon cable from the main board, plug it into the jazzy mod, then plug the ribbon cable that came with the jazzy mod into the main board.

I did mine about 6-7 months ago. the hardest thing was just keeping track of the screws and where they go. Witch really isnt hard at all. If you take your time and follow the how to, its a really easy mod to do
