Hey guys. Just picked up a 05 GRP Wagon from this for sale thread.
This is my first Subaru, though I've had a good share of Japanese performance cars. I'm an avid sport climber so the small, low, rwd cars don't go well with rocks and dirt. This seemed like a great do it all car, so here I am!
First turbo car, so it's a great feeling. I'm usually a neutral car color kinda guy, but the red called my name so just jumped in. It's still a virgin, so naturally I'll need to mod it.
Some first "mods" I'd like to do. Haven't researched yet, but plan to check out y'alls experience & recommendations on some of this stuff.
Cobb AP
Clean, easy to install, aux cable for iphone
Outback suspension? (If the height doesn't do well offroad)
I live in Los Angeles area, so likely going to visit Harman Motive / AQ Motorsports. Seem like reliable guys.
If there are any meets ups in So Cal, I'd love to join in. Looking forward to getting to know you folks.

Once again welcome!
Check out Infamous Performance. Mike, m sprank on the forum, is very familiar with your car from the previous owner. Lots of knowledge and support for this forum from him.

Stop thinking about parts. Call Mike. Tell him what yout want out of the car (sounds like a reliable stage 1 tune that will pass smog no problem for half the price of an AP that you don't need and have crappy tunes).
If you are interested in Outback ride height I might be willing to swap suspensions with you from our OBXT.
There is a meet at Apex Raceway on March 9th.

Im not sure what you are agreeing with exactly, except that AP are a bit overrated for 05-06 LGT. What is it about your AP you find underwhelming?
In OP's case an AP is $500 vs a $10 vag-com cable and free software, AP comes with dirty tunes and does not make the most out of your car the way a protune will. OP is not only LOCAL to IPT, a road tune or ots tune will be cheaper, more powerful and cleaner than the AP tune.

Welcome! What's the deal with the plate. 5MT indeed... is it, or is it an Auto? You may have to get the registry to fix your plate. It's an EJ255 too no idea what a J365 is.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome! I had my eye on that car and was seriously tempted to fly down and drive it back, swap all my parts and sell my spec.B. There are times I really wish I got a wagon (usually when I want to take my dog somewhere or going up snowboarding). Also love the color combo and that it's 5MT.
It's in amazing condition and Infamous Performance did a lot of the service and gave it a clean bill of health. Mike @ Infamous will take good care of you and Shamar is a great tuner who's local for road tunes (and if I understand correctly there may be a Mustang Dyno in the works).

Haha, didn't notice that before. I think it's just a coincidence.
It is a 5mt though.

Thanks for the tips. I called Mike earlier today just to say hi. Unfortunately he's a little ways away (100mi) so need to plan a full day to visit him. Wouldn't be so bad except for that 405 traffic...
I'll let you know about the suspension swap. Need to get this checked out first. Seems a bit bouncy, has 125k miles afterall. May be toast soon.
Can't make that meet, but hopefully will run into you and other legacy folks sometime soon.

Looking forward to seeing you at our next meet! Sorry you can't make March 9th. How are you enjoying your AP/stage 1 tune? Nice to turn the boost up a little bit!
There are multiple members locally that snowboard, go shooting, mountain run, go to the track, etc. Just gotta get on the inside line, that is if you have any time outside your probably already busy life schedule
Anyhow, PM me if you facebook. My facebook is a virtual RACEbook.

No tune yet, looking forward to it though. May need to visit Mike this week...
Sounds cool, is there a socal thread going somewhere that I should be on? Uber busy on and off, mostly on
Here is my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/michael.brat
I'd like to track this thing, once it's proper. It's nice to find the limit of any car I'll be driving a lot.

I just picked the Belkin Bluetooth adaptor. So far I like it. $50 shipped from amazon. Just hit the button when you get in and the music starts, turn the ignition off and it stops. Take calls through the stereo. Phone never needs to leave my pocket. Set up was quite simple. My $.02. Enjoy the car,
