Hey all. For those that have seen my Celaru thread you know about the Legacy that I built. I never posted a thread just for it but shes on the lift getting some work done to her for this years upcoming auto X season so I thought it would be fitting to start one now.
I'll start off with some history. I bought the car from a guy on the east cost for 1500 and had it shipped over. It was a good strong running car but it a pretty bad rust bucket.
I drove it like that and installed some parts I had laying around the shop from other cars I upgrade. Intake, Headers, Custom Exhaust, WRX Struts and Springs with a coil cut out and some 18x8.5 Falken Wheels on 225/40/18 tires. For exterior I did some JDM Headlights with I blacked out , and stock modified grill, and an EXO V GSR Wing.
So I drove it like that for a couple months but the dents, rock chips, rust holes were starting to get to me. Also the brakes were on there squeal tabs, the tranny was grinding in 2nd and the clutch was slipping so it looked like it was time to drop the hammer and tear into this thing. I had a full drivetrain (minus the engine) from a Ver 7 JDM RA Spec-C which got upgrade diffs and was pull out of a polish rally car from my old wagon that I was trying to sell but since I had it got ready to throw it in. I did some searching on the net specifically for some aggressively concaved 7 spoke wheels and found exactly what I wanted in the MB Battles 18x9.5 +15. However they were 5x114.3 so I bought some 06 STi hubs and some Stance LX Coilovers for 05-07 STi. Also due to their aggressive offset I obviously needed to flare the car so I was going to make something from scratch but I was at my buddies place and I saw this fender that had this perfect flare on it. They were off of a 89 Honda accord. So a trip to the pull-a-part and 80 bucks later for 2 pairs of front fenders and I had my wide body.
Once I got the flares on and did some body work and drove it to my buddies for some custom bumper and paint work.
So for the front bumper I took the lower portion of a replica 02-03 WRX Zero/Sports bumper and then heightened the opening of the main air dam for eventually an intercooler.
For the rear bumper we grafted the exhaust and reflector portions off of an 09 Legacy bumper.
Once the Bumper was done it was time to make some custom dual tip exhaust.

So for paint I went with a ford color called tuxedo black. Also for some added flare I took some Di-Noc carbon look vinyl and covered the exhaust portion, the trunk, the roof, and did a rising sun pattern on the hood. Then we took clear and just the pearl that was in the paint so it would be a subtle look and so it wouldn't look like I was trying make it look like I had carbon parts.
So once the Car looked great on the outside I had to spend some work on the engine to get it up to par. Stuck with the same N/A setup I had for now but dressed up up.
So a few months after it was done the TOP SCOOB competition on NASIOC did a Top Legacy. I borrowed some 19x10.5 +32 wheels off a car I was working on a had some nice pics taken which got me the win for all 3 rounds.
So just before that vid the stock engine in started to leak oil so I started making a custom turbo kit and swapped in a 2.0l WRX Block.
Its just a stock WRX TD04 but I am running a Tial 38mm gate so I can run 19-21psi. I am shooting for 260whp but super fast spool for auto X.
So now finally this brings me to the point of this thread. I got the turbo swap done but there where some issues. Up-pipe to header flanges leaked, EGR needs to be cut off and plugged on the mani, and many more.
Also I am going to be finishing my wire tuck, Swapping to a non ABS pump and tucking all my brake hard lines. Do some custom engine bay metal work to clean it up a bit. Got new sticker tires, adjustable control arms. 350z exhaust that's going to be modified and installed for my up-coming EZ30R swap this winter after auto X season is over.
So day one I got most of the disassembly done. I'll be starting on the Brake Hardlines tonight.
I should be making posts almost every day. My first even is mid April and I need to have enough time to get tuned and to ware my tires in so I am hoping 2-3 weeks tops to get all this done.

Love your work still. Can't wait to see how this all turns out after the ez30 swap.
Randomly semi-off-topic, how do you like the BFG kdw's? I just got a set to go with my new Rays wheels that'll be going on in a couple weeks. The BFGs were the only tires I could find in the size I wanted 235/35/18.
It could be done. Its just metal. I love my KDWs. I recommend them for sun, rain and even snow 100%. Also they have the curb savers so you get the stretched benefit with out that "pulled" look. If you look at other cars I have built I put them on all my cars. I just recently opt to get some new tires because I want a stickier compound for auto X and I don't drive my Lego in the winter since I have a winter snow attack vehicle.
I just recently did a Sedan Rear end on a WRX wagon How-To:
