My Legacy is in need of a new engine, so I wanted to drop a EJ257 ('08 STI) engine in it, but not sure where to source it. Does anyone have a good place to find them??

Thanks,

Well someone just started the same thread below you so you should start there. It would also help to tell us your location.

The one below was going more of the way of where to get it done. I have a shop that can do it, but they asked if I could try sourcing the engine.

Location, updated.

I almost put the wagon up for sale after driving it. My car is stoopid fast for having no cage, his has more power (even detuned) and a full cage. It responds best to the "Ken Block" style of driving...dont lift, I have another one back at the shop.

They're targeting 500+ tq at the wheels. Having driven it, though, I think I'll keep the LGT 5-speed transmission. The first 3 gears are very short, so lots of rowing. Making the 8k redline available might help with that somewhat.

Cornering is quite fun. I never thought of an awd car as "tossable". Cornering with the gas pedal was pretty easy. Trail-braking at the carousel (the ridge) is useful in the wagon, and required in the sti. Turn-in seems pretty good, and when you make a mistake, just mash the gas to compensate.

Geez, I hope Eric doesnt read this...I'll be watching from the pits. :-)

Yes I instantly loved the car when I saw it! I saw that car when it brought to the shop to get tuned the first time. Then again when they decided to Build it the the Max!

I wish I could ride in it to experience what your talking about.
