Last night I finished the retrofit.
Process is very simple, I might do a write up later...

Basic swap and play process, if you know how to clear the headlights, you can do this.

The Retrofit Source Morimoto Mini H1 Projector
The Retro-Quik Kit for the Subaru Legacy
5000k, 35W

The supplied brackets

With the yellow/hazed lens

Without the headlight housing lens

Super awesome cut-off

Another comparison

This pic will show how horrible OEM projector + 6000k HID kits are...

Before

After

Now I gotta figure out how to wire them into my car...along with the Bi-Xenon stuff...

Looks like a nice kit. Was wondering how it was. The only thing that would keep me from going that route is the fact that those projectors use H1 rebased bulbs. Rebased bulbs are garbage, IMHO. If you look at the electrodes and the quality (and volume) of the salts in the capsule they Just can't compare to the quality of some good OEM D2S bulbs. A cheaper bulb will run hotter than a quality OEM bulb...Besides, they don't make the new-ish Osram CBI bulbs in an H1 fitment. True white 5000K color with more light output than the Phillips 85122+.

Those projectors do have a nice clean cutoff, though. Have shots of the bi-xenon high beam light pattern?

you can probably ask for D2S projector, I didn't have any preference, they just sent me whatever.

They didn't make a D2S bolt-in kit for the Legacy when I was looking to do the swap. The H1 bulb was my one hang-up as well and I haven't been disappointed with it yet.

The D2S mini is pretty bad compared to the H1. For the bi-xenon, just splice the wires (doesnt matter which ones) into the hi beam wire. Vamp clips work well.

I did this back in nov. I used a posi-tap connector into the high beam wires to power the solenoid. Works great!

well, my kit came with those splitter wires

So I'll just have to convert the 2 wires that's coming out of the projector into the standard plugs and plug them in...but for now, i just plugged them in directly and wrapped them with electrical tape
