Sup guys!

I've been eyeing the Legacy for a while now and finally pulled the trigger a few days ago. Traded in a 3 month old 2014 CX-5 AWD

I actually leased the CX-5, and leased the Legacy as well.
I went to the dealer intending to get a Venetian Red, but walked out with a Crystal Black instead. Maybe I should've gotten the red one instead, I don't know.

I love the car but have a couple questions.

1) The throttle response kinda sucks. When i floor it from a stop, it goes, but it's rather pretty slow. It kinda feels like a VW diesel passat. I guess maybe that's how CVTs are. I also drove a 2013 Impreza as well, but it felt like the Impreza was actually more responsive. Is this normal??

2) I've driven about 60 miles in the city so far, but the trip computer says I'm only averaging 20 mpg. The CX-5 averaged no less than 26 under same conditions. I'm still living in the same city and my driving route hasn't changed at all... What are you all averaging?

3) How do you activate the windshield and side mirror heater?

I got the Legacy for it's AWD system and good visibility. Sedans are becoming more and more like coupes with ridiculously high belt lines and dashboards, along with very steep windshields. I love Subarus because with them function comes first over form.

Pics to come soon!

Congrats on the new purchase! I cant answer questions 1+2 because I have a different drivetrain. But as far as the heated windshield and mirrors, they turn on with the rear defrost.

1) Yes, there is a bit of lag time when taking off. I agree, I test drove a Jetta TDI and it performed the same. Not sure off hand if that had a CVT or not though.

2) In mine, a '11 2.5i Premium I'm averaging 31.5. That's a with very little highway driving.

1) I have the same thing in my car. It's one of the quirks of driving the CVT. After you're rolling, I think you'll like how smooth the acceleration is without shifting.

2) I get between 26-30 with mostly city driving. I'm a pretty aggressive driver too.

3) Rear window de-icer button

I bought my 2013 Legacy Sport on May 4 and put 3500 miles on it the first month. My gas mileage is very consistently around 27-28 mpg with mostly city driving. I'm getting about 450 miles before I fill up and I'm generally filling up about 15-16 gallons. One tank I drove probably 75% highway and go over 30, but again, I had another 25% of aggressive city driving. I'm going to go on a couple long trips this summer, and I'm expecting to get around 600 or so miles out of a tank with pure highway driving.

Hope this helps.

I guess I'll give it a few more tank until the mileage settles...

This is my first Subaru and it's a keeper! Other than the minor annoyances like the electronic parking brake, I like the car. The steering feel somewhat lacks precision at higher speeds but it feels good knowing I got AWD.

1. yes the CVT doesnt have the "right off the line" kick in like a normal automatic does...unfortunately
2. def give it some time to break in as im averaging with mostly city and backroad driving between 29-32 mpg
3. as stated these turn on with the rear defroster

i myself have a 13 legacy sport and its my first subaru as well! i love it so far

I have a '12 premium. The computer needs to learn your driving style. Once it does it will become more responsive. When ingot my '12 I went from a '07 2.5. I thought at first that the '12 was slower. Once I broke it in it feels the same if not faster than the '07. The cvt just likes half throttle and it will take off like an airplane.
