OK, it is getting close to the time to fix my rod-knocking 2009 Legacy NA. I am wondering if a 2010 or so JDM engine would work, with an intake manifold swap and wiring harness changeover. I know I have the VLCS or whatever acronym I keep forgetting, and the US salvage market doesn't look good for availabiliy and quality. If I could go the JDM "long block" route, it would be a lot easier to get my hands on the replacement.
Thoughts? I need her back in service pronto...
