I dont know if its because its summer or what but does anyone else have a hell of a time keeping that light haze off of the inside of your windshield? Its driving me nuts. Its a light haze that wipes off easily but comes back after a couple weeks.

What do you guys clean the inside of your windshield with? I feel like windex just streaks like crazy even after buffing with a dry rag after.

Thanks

I have the same thing and it drives me nuts. Even when you feel like you've got it off when cleaning it the next time you go into the sun, bam it's back and worse than ever

I have been using windex or glass wipes with limited success.

Put me in the club. The 5th gen windshield seems more prone to this than the 4th gen ever was. I hate that film!

Windex is great for cleaning chrome but is worthless for glass and ditch the paper towels too.

CRC Glass cleaner when used with a microfiber towel is very very good. I drive directly into the sun first thing in the morning so any film is not tolerated.

We use one of those handles with the microfiber rag on the end, my arms just don't bend that way anymore.

Windex is for cleaning your bathroom mirror.

Likely you are not getting the window completely clean. Consider using a little iso alcohol 93% as a solvent if you need to then clean again. When I was young I had a couple of second hand smokers cars, it helped a lot in my case. May or may not help in this one.

Ordered some CRC glass cleaner from Amazon. Let's hope it's as good as you say.

i have the same issue with my WRX. it's a PITA.

i had some foaming aerosol spray that worked pretty good with a towel on my Legacy... i was going to try Rain X but i guess i'll see if the foam stuff works.

i've been through the car wash three times and the haze always comes back after a couple hours. i just put a tint strip in so i have to wait another day or two.

Even using Stoners Invisible it doesn't work that well.

You have to make sure you do it in the shade and you have to wipe it like 3 times. One to get most everything, two to get everything the first didn't get and three to buff it.

Dont use any chemicals, using a quality microfiber alone should do the trick.

I use waffle weave towels to get this done.... best towels for cleaning anything IMO.

If the haze has been there for a while, cleaning it with a towel damp with Optimum No Rinse and then wiping it down with a dry towel works extremely well. (This combo even removed the tar residue from cigarette smoke from a customers car)

So peeing on the windshield and then wiping it down with 2000 grit sandpaper does not work?

I just bought new towels to clean the windows cuz the last one I bought kept leaving a nasty haze. Haven't tested it out yet but I did see some waffle weave towel but it was like $8. If that towel is good then I'm gonna have to check it out.

I have around $150 invested in microfibers since I do detailing on the side for a bit of cash, for glass cleaning purposes, I consistently find waffle weave type towels to be the best at leaving no streaks especially when combined with Optimum No Rinse (Google this product, I absolutely love it)

The haze is actually your car offgassing some chemicals from the interior, which is further compounded when rain hits and makes it condense on the window itself.... so I find it very very useful to try and not use a lot of plastic dressing on the interior (Which evaporate in the heat and linger in the car) and whatnot to minimize the haze.
