The finish on the halogen projector bowls tend to not have the same finish as those designed for HID. The H7 projector is one of the only projector that is very similar to HID because its very similar to those from Audi (well, i think the early 2000 A4's). The cutoff plate has a squirrel finder built into halogen projectors are okay for halogen because of how dim halogen lights project, but HID project high intensity lights that would make the squirrel finders an area for light to escape, meaning glare
OP: best option if money is an issue: replace lens with TSX-R lens with squirrel finder delete (cover up with aluminum foil tape) so that on coming cars and cars in front of you would not be blinded or see too much glare.
If money is not an issue: You could try to do a Morimoto Mini H1 quik retro. The output of the Mini H1 is one of nicest for cheaper aftermarkets.
