So my car is a 2005 Legacy GT. It has an ej257 in it with CP pistons with 10k on the build. I have a Cobb short ram intake, catless up pipe, invidia catted downpipe and a unknown catback. I am currently running 91 octane stage 2 w/intake on my accessport. This is the generic tune from Cobb.
I was going to get an e-tune but my logs weren't looking good. I was getting a lot of feedback knock at low rpm. My tuner believed I was running lean and suggested I do a few things.
1. Boost leak test. I performed one and found out my turbo inlet was torn badly. Got that replaced. I had a minor tear in the hose leaving my wastegate. Temporarily fixed that with super glue, gorilla tape, and zipties. I will be getting that hose replaced shortly. My fix was holding and I could no longer find any leaks.
2. My tuner believed I had fueling issue as well and suggested a fuel pressure test. I got a pressure tester and played around with the locations and was getting mixed results. I posted some videos for your input.
When doing the fuel pressure test I noticed a whine coming from under my intake manifold when I had the key on and the car off. It was constant and didn't go away. You can hear it clearly in the videos. Any idea what that is? Here are few different videos of the readings.
Yes I know there can't be a boost leak with the engine off, the noise just sounds similar to it.
Here is another video of the pressure tapped off of the fuel pump. It seems to be sitting at 25ish when it was 40psi during another test. not sure why the pressure is different the two times.
This is another video of the buzzing i'm getting
Here is the pressure with the gauge tapped after the fuel pressure regulator. It seems to be holding a steady psi even when I give it a bit of throttle. It sits around 34psi.
