cracked 5mt??

so my aunt has a 2009 forester, and last year her trans cracked down the side, ruining the trans and it was replaced.

today, under my 08 leggy 2.5i, i noticed a nice little crack in half the case of my trans. im gonna leave it like this, and see what happens. im too lazy and too broke to get a new trans.

but is this a common problem with 5mts? or did we get 2 bad apples?




PS, YES it is a crack. you can clearly feel it with your fingernail, and the where it runs up the rib is wider then the rest.

Where does the crack end on the bottom?

Case failures are uncommon, but not unheard of.

it ends right where the 2 sides of the case meet. right in the middle.
