I'm trying to find a vacuum leak somewhere thats making my idle fuel trim really high. Took apart intake manifold, gaskets are fine and all hoses underneath are good, checked intercooler connections and t underneath. I think I have a hose thats hardened and is not holding its suction. Anyone , i mean anyone know of any hoses that are known to leak or bad and would cause me to run lean? Any suggestions appreciated!

Funny because I am having the same problem after changing my turbo inlet to a Perrin Inlet as well. Let me know how you make out, most likely a boost leak somewhere.

Did you lift the manifold up a hair to install the inlet?

yeah I had to lift mine a inch or 2. Definitely not a fun install. I actually just fixed my issue today by raising the idle a little bit inside my AP. Your idle is high correct? Is it high all the time or is it fluctuating?

Edit: This issue happened before you changed the inlet, correct?

Not sure if serious... Idling is using gas but not driving anywhere, 0 mpg basically. It's bringing your average down

Mpg is an average of how many miles you have driven divided by how much gas you have burned. If you sit and burn gas idling not going anywhere, you aren't going any further but are burning more gas. Divide the same number (miles driven) by a bigger number (gas consumed) and you get a smaller result average mpg.

So I hear a real small amount of air creeping out behind the alternator, but I inspected all the hoses and can not locate where its leaking from. Are those 2 plastic vacuum pumps none to leak?

Though there are seven hoses that can come loose and leak, the one behind the alternator has two opportunities... its the MAP sensor's hose. One end connects to the intake manifold and the other to the MAP sensor... with the sensor's nipple pointing straight down. You can miss it. The other end of that hose goes to the IM and is also hard to see. Both ends need clamps.

The BPV hose on the bottom back of the IM has to have the TMIC off to be addressed. It is hard to see and hard to get a clamp on, but it must have one. Likely not that though, or your idle would be much worse.

Be very sure to clamp the sense hose for your Fuel Pump Regulator. Lose that and you can lose a motor. The rest are just a PITA.

Why not take all this time invested in changing everything you can dream up and rig up a proper boost leak rig and find where the leak is, instead of guessing where it might be?
