I punched my vin into sirus website and it says I have a sirius radio and gave me a esn. I called them to activate and they say its been activated. Now I go press sat button nothing comes on in regards to sirus. Than I start thinking do I even have one I do see the antenna mounted. Today I do the nav hack and there she is see atyached pic. Whats the trick to use this thing now as my nav unit doesnt see it. Btw I have a 2012 legacy gt.

If you have a '12 with factory nav, it should work. If not, there may be an issue that the dealer needs to correct. Even when service is not activated when a ready has SAT enabled, you can still press SAT and get channel 0 and 1. However, I may be wrong, but I was under the presumption if SAT is OEM in the nav, it is XM. I know they are the same company but they have different channels.

Had this same question a few months ago. You have a Sat ready head unit. But without the antenna kit, hitting the sat button wont do anything. But to Sirius they read that unit as available to activate but your unit is unaware of that fact with out the antenna.

The SAT radio antennae is a shark fin mounted on the roof. Do you have a shark fin?

The SAT radio antenna on mine is mounted inside the top right of the windshield and looks kinda like a computer mouse........The SAT radio did not work when I first got the car and the SAT was activated....the installer gaffed the installation and it had to go back to the dealer to be re-wired,,,,then it worked just fine but I had lost about 2 weeks of the "Free Trial" period.
I never found the SAT/XM to be worth listening to so I let it expire and am now hounded by XM radio sales calls, e-mails and mail trying to get me to sign up.......NOT going to happen.

There is a connector adjacent to antena which I assume is the power and the connection to the stock head unit im sure the antenna disconnect would also work something to try ....

I think on the HK premium audio systems the XM is built in.

there is a box above / behind the hvac controls below the head unit that has a sticker label XM, I presume that is the box.
