I have searched and have not found anyone discussing this code, the causes or the fix, can anyone help before I just go back to the dealer?

This code just came up for me last night. It seemed to take a while to start and then about 5 minutes later while driving the CEL came on. I hooked up a code reader and got P0345. Has anyone else had this code come up?

It is a circuit code so it is either a bad sensor, or the wiring to it.

I've never had to change one on a Legacy but those are the classic symptoms of a bad cam position sensors. The camshift position sensor is used to determine fuel injection timing which is one of the reasons why you will have a hard start when they go out.

Where is this sensor located on the engine bay? I have this sensor as well as bank 1 as well as the crankshaft position sensor showing yellow flags.

Engine runs fine. Start ups suck up gas and take multiple tries.
