I am planning on hopefully installing my TMIC within the next coming weeks. I all also get an E-tune at some point as well once I get the charge pipe. Does anyone know if there would be any issue running the Cobb Stage 1 or Stock map with the TMIC and Q300 CBE?

I don't think anything catastrophic would happen, but I would want to get tuned sooner than later for sure to be completely safe.

I would run with the OTS stage 2 tune and the Q300 CBE. Put the TMIC on in the 5 minutes before you tune.

Cobb didn't release an OTS Stage 2 map for the 2012 LGT.

Wouldnt the stage 2 be for the TBE not the CBE. I would think the stock tune would be fine with the CBE and tmic. Obviously wouldnt be using the tmic to potential. But safe i would think

The 5th gen is quite different than the 4th Gen/WRX due to turbo placement. The DP contributes quicker spool up ~ 2700-3200 rpm but not much more.
Your mods with a CBE are much closer to Stage II than Stage I. The Stage I OTS map may not be the best. You would be better off staying stock with Stage I OTS map than installing the mods and running either Stage I or Stage II OTS maps.
Subaru engine management is pretty darn good to protect the engine but the whole point of getting a custom tune is to have a safe tune across the full operational range. A tune for your engine. The Cobb OTS is a generic tune. The risk may be small but do want to take any risk?
Best recommendation will be to not install mods until you can e-tune (~150$) or pro-tune (~$500).

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on getting my protune from MSPT once i hit 36k and have the cash for my DP, charge pipe and bpv. I'll hold off on installing the TMIC until it's nice enough and I'll start my etune that day.

My first protune was with the Invidia 300 CBE and the RacerX TMIC. I ran the OTS stage 1 on just the CBE - no big deal. No OTS stage II for your car (like mine) as mentioned. IMO put all those mods on yourself flash to OTS stage I - drive to your tuner and then awake the beast. Here is my first tune: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...&highlight=18g Most of us have done this route as the basic upgrade in the beginning so just ask. Have fun!

Yea. I've been running the Cobb 1 with just the CBE for about 3 months now. I love it. I can't wait to see how much more I get with the TMIC.
I was looking to get the TMIC thermally coated but the place I found wanted almost $250 for it. Not sure if it's really worth it. Does it really make much of a difference?

RacerX will coat it for you.... Well, it is serving me and quite a few of us with upgraded turbos quite well.

I actually got it of another member on the board. I'm not planning on going past adding a downpipe, and that probably won't be for a while. I won't be going to a track or racing or anything like that. Just want to add some pep to my daily driver. Do you think it still be worth the extra cost to get it coated?

Nah... There is not as much heat soak vs the WRX and sti cause of our low mount. For what you want it's fine.
