Can I get the strut dimensions for legacy and outback's. top to bottom, bottom to perch and so on. I'm looking into modifying a set of Outback struts by re welding the bottom and maybe dropping the perch. Basically giving me more room between the perch and the tire then if I where to run a legacy strut.
Thank you.

Here is my Idea for thoughts.
Front struts out of an outback cut apart and the base reinforced and raised to give the Koni strut more height.
Legacy 6cylinder springs in the front.
In the rear outback springs on the Koni struts no modifications.
With this setup I shouldn't need any spacers to balance the car front to rear and the suspension will nice and firm for track days and carrying a load.

HD's will have more clearance than stock/KYB Legacy struts. about 1/2 way in between after you factor in the different tophat

What I said is true, but it doesn't guarantee 255's will fit. I don't know that answer. Also, remember you'll need different tophats, and the rear's required spacers. Search for what user "Easton" has done.

If i run the HD's i'm going to run my springs on them as an overload spring. Spec b front top hats. In the threads i found they where all running legacy lowering or stock springs which are to soft or lower it even more. The setup i am stealing from he is running Legacy Koni's with outback springs.

Well I found a set of brnib 2000 legacy front struts. Are they the same as 05 fronts size wise. I was thinking of using them for koni inserts.
