i had found the LED interior lighting from fastwrx.com a while back. the price is resonable for them, and the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

anyways, does anyone have the LED interior lights in your LGT? i think i'm gonna order all the ones available: map, dome, puddle and trunk lamps. i'm kinda into LED lighting so these should be for me. might order those in december.

i'm wanting all the stock interior lights LED instead of incondecent. this picture is what i hope it to brighten it up to since the black interior isnt easy to see at night. i would have a trunk light, not a hatch light since mine is the sedan model

this is a somewhat low cost and functional mod that i will likely be quite happy with and proud of. very good for asthetics. its going to be quite functional when i need to find things at night.

I got the full meal deal for my wagon, haven't put in the puddle lamps yet but I'm very happy with the interior lights. Especially the ones by the rearview; the stock lamps up there were worthless.

I have the maps & puddle lights and love them. I get compliments all the time and they really do look great. I'll pick up the dome ones eventually.

I have every LED they offer for the interior ( the super-bright puddle, maps, dome, and even the trunk bulb, also the License plate bulbs). I get compliments all the time from people on how great they look and on how bright the light is, but at the same time not as harsh as the yellow light. Most importantly though is the fact that I love the way they look.

I have converted the Map Lights to LED using an item I found while browsing at an Auto Lighting shop.

I got two packs, used the 31mm festoon connector (of the seven different connectors supplied) and then did this:

Removed the incandescent bulbs (8 watts) and inserted the 31mm festoon connectors.

Fastened the 4x3 LED Array in the Map Light cover using the double sided foam provided in the kit. Tucked the excess wires up behind the festoon connector into the roof lining.

The light level is improved and certainly works well with my light coloured alacantra leather interior.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

I also used the same 4x3 LED Array to convert the Dome Light as follows:

I joined two 4x3 LED Arrays. Staggered the positive and negative connections, soldered and covered with standard insulation tape.

Removed the standard incandescent bulb (8 watts) and inserted the 31mm festoon connector. Tucked the excess wire up into the roof lining. Fastened the Arrays using the double sided foam supplied with the kit. The slight angle of the surface where they are fastened actually helps to spread the light.

Tested the install before replacing the cover. Initially, the polarity was incorrect and the LEDs did not work. Simply removed the festoon connector and re-installed in the opposite direction. All worked fine.

Replaced the Dome Light Cover, and there you have it. Much better rear illumination and lower power consumption (approx 4 watts for both).

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Also did a similar conversion in the trunk (we call it a boot in Australia):

Removed the power from the rear of the trunk light before starting and let cool. A 5 watt incandescent bulb can actually give a nasty burn if it is hot!. Then removed the cover and bulb. Threaded the small connector through the rear of the Trunk Light assembly. Connected using the wedge connector provided in the kit. Tested to ensure the correct polarity. Needed to remove the wedge and re-insert in the opposite direction. All worked fine.

Replaced the cover as it will help to prevent the wedge from coming loose. Trunk Light is much brighter and more centrally placed. Yes I know it is crooked, but it is installed in a place that you cannot see. Next time I will pay more attention to the alignment. Additionally, If one 4x3 LED array is not enough light, you can join two and add more light without exceeding the original circuit load (5 watts original, 2 watts for each 4x3 LED Array).

Kind Regards,

Mark.

well done, mark; those 4x3 look like a perfect fit for the map lights.

Underpowered,

I think they are a great "find" imo. And the price of $10.00 AUD per kit is the lowest I have come across.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Anyone know of a US supplier for those, or something similar? I'd like to upgrade my door lights... without paying across-the-planet shipping if possible.

NSFW,

I just Googled "LED", then filtered on Australia only, and followed some automitive links which then opened a whole range of items that I did not know existed. Found a local retailer within 20 minutes drive and took a drive. He knows me by sight now since this weekend was my 4th visit!

Kind Regards,

Mark.
