LONO100 Posted December 20, 2012 Share Posted December 20, 2012 hi all, I'm new to the Subaru scene and just bought a 97 5mt wagon. I've been trying to find a fix to my mushy shifter. I read that replacing the shifter bushing will fix it, but then I've read it has something to do with the linkage. My shifter goes into every gear without grinding, and the clutch is biting great, its just that shifting from gear to gear feels all mushy and id like to tighten it up. mitskip Posted December 21, 2012 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Bushings will stiffen the feel. Short shifter may make it feel a bit tighter.
