OCDetails
There are actually several things that do the trick, but I thought I'd share a combo which seems to have done the trick on a recent project. It wasn't a car or anything, but it was white and it did pop. I detailed a client's Citation CJ3 last week and really wanted to impress them. So I used XMT 360 (a sort of all in one type cleaner/polish/wax product) and Blackfire Wet Diamond (a paint sealant) on it. Man, did it pop! http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/OCDetails/CJ3/DSCN2539.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/OCDetails/CJ3/DSCN2571.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/OCDetails/CJ3/DSCN2508.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/OCDetails/CJ3/DSCN2582.jpg I can't argue much with results. Anytime you are able to pull reflections out of bright white then you know it is a good combo. I just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone struggling with getting their white Leggy to really make heads spin. XMT 360 and Blackfire Wet Diamond. Definitely a great combo for mildly oxidized and neglected white paint if you want to bring it back to life and make it shine! _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . pillboy
I want to know what the bill was to detail a phucking jet. Looks nice BTW. It is still ugly.
OCDetails
Well, I kind of almost feel bad about that part. I did some research before I went to look at it and found out the market average for this size jet is $1500 bucks. So I undercut it a bit and charged them $1200. They were super happy with it and said that I just took some business away from Cessna, so that made me happy too. I'm only going to have to maintain it every for to six weeks from now on unless it needs it more often. They took it out in the sun on Monday and they said it looked outstanding. Even other pilots commented on it when they got to wherever they were going. Not everybody can afford having their plane hangared, so there are a lot of planes covered in oxidation and they just get really dull. So having a well polished one with products that make white really stand out draws some attention I guess. Anyway, that was the point of me posting it. I don't do many white vehicles these days and I've wanted to show off this combo for awhile now. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . kateviliams
We can say it nice detailing but actually it is not looking nice and I don't know why it is not looking nice to me I think something is missing.
OCDetails
Well, it has all the punctuation right, so I don't know what would be missing. It is going to look different than a car because it has much larger surfaces and the curves are much longer. So it bends reflections differently among other things. Also, there isn't any metal flake in the paint which you would find in most white cars. There aren't too many that are painted solid white without any pearl coating or metal flake to make them pop a little bit. I'm always open to suggestions though. What have you found that makes white really stand out? I'm always looking for something that will accomplish that better than whatever I'm using. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S .
