39k is quite a long of miles for less than 3 year old car. But look for service records and see if it was modded ( i doubt it) But how does it compare against the kbb value?

Just looked it up

http://www.kbb.com/subaru/legacy/2010-subaru-legacy/25gt-limited-sedan-4d/?vehicleid=256180&intent=buy-used&mileage=39000&condition=excellent&pricetype=private-party&anchor=true&anchor=true

Seems to be a good deal to me. Possibly too good of a deal.

But you have to think of the point of view from Chevy. They have a subaru on their lot. So they are only going to keep it there for so long before they sell it to a subaru dealership. So find out how long it has been sitting there and be like, well your just going to sell it to subaru anyways, and use that as a bargaining chip to lower the price possibly.

I don't think that's that many miles for a '10. A lot of people average 12k-15k a year for mileage and this car could have been picked up in end of '09 when they first came out.

Since it is out of warranty I would thoroughly check it. When you test drive, look out for a shimmy around 60mph, which was common in the 2010 vehicles.

These are solid-ass cars, man- I got mine in January and already have 20k on it with zero problems so don't be too fooled by the mileage; I see this car lasting 200k easily.. like with anything, make sure you have the documentation, but for starters check out this link for reliability info.. the only thing the 2010 had going against it was a couple of recalls that were most likely taken care of

The average american drives 15,000mi/yr, so no, 39,000mi in 3 years (a 2010 model would be sold in late 2009 possibly) is perfectly normal.

There's nothing I can really think of that's a red flag to watch out for on the 5th gen LGT's, they don't have the same gremlins the 4th gen's did. All of my warranty work was for stupid little things, like a rattling passengar side seat buckle, or a door lock actuator that started struggling to (electronically) unlock the driver's side door. I actually had the same exact problem with my 2012 3.6r's passengar side seatbelt buckle, go figure Subaru.

But to reiterate, nothing needs any special attention, just make sure the car has been thoroughly inspected. A compression and leakdown test wouldn't hurt, but isn't completely necessary, especially since you're still in the powertrain warranty.

12-15,000 lol, I average in my truck 30,000 miles per year. I purchased my Subaru in December of 2009, and I have 28,000 miles on it. By the time December rolls around, I will have 28,000 miles on it lol. I purchased my truck in November of 2010, and by the time November rolls around I will have 61,000 miles on it. Where I live, if you don't drive, you don't get anywhere. As a parent of two active daughters, and an expensive wife I am always behind the wheel of my truck. The Subaru, not so much... :(
2010 2.5GT limited is for sale. :)

15k a year?!?!

Wow i thought it was like 12k

I did too, it used to be 12k/yr, but if you google it, it's now 15k. Maybe we'll see that trend downward in the future, but 15k/yr is how it's been trending the past 5-10yrs.

I put 34,000mi on my GT in 1.5yrs, and my commute is a whopping 5 miles each way :). I found any excuse possible to drive that car.

Got 67K on the 2010 LGT (bought Dec 09). Still a very solid car. Driving is less now that the 07OB is freed up.

Not concerned about the price of gas; halved my commute by 22 miles by moving. I can take $9/gallon for break even. Also, you have to be all in if you get a car that runs on 93 octane.

When gas is 5 bucks a gallon, i don't think the 20-30 cent difference between regular and 91/93 is very material.
