AndrewZ
Okay so, A few years ago i bought an "Auterra Dyno-Scan for Palm OS." It came with a cable. I'm hoping it can be used like the vag-com unit and hopefully someone can help me confirm if I can, or lead me in the right direction http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78510&stc=1&d=1262409043 The plug that goes into the OBD-II harness has 16 metal pins, and is translated to 9-pin serial. This cable is labeled only with "Auterra". That end then goes into that box you see there. The box is a mystery. There are no words or parts numbers on it to be found, not even a brand. That box has 9-pin serial output. I have a serial 9-pin to USB converter from radio shack What do we think about this cable? Should I install the software and try it out? If I am only reading data and not flashing the ECU while experimenting, could any damage be done? Also, romraider's website says that you need the tactrix cable 2.0 for the newer software. Is this true?
