DIY Front Grill and Bumper Inserts

I've got a custom grille, and I can tell you one thing for sure: If you gut the frame of the thing, you won't be able to lift the hood with it! There are two ways around this:

- Leave the center post (and integral oval) in place

- Add structure to the grille

I can't recall who customized his grille with a couple of threaded rods which went top to bottom on either side of the hood latch. They were hidden behind some mesh, and they seemed to work well.

Either way, this is something that I would imagine is an oversight on this project all too often.

I am putting the finishing touches on my DIY grille right now. Most likely won't have pics until its painted and on the car though (late summer?).
