Ihada147
a friend of mine got me a set of forester wheels with great tires on them as an early christmas gift http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc403/Mk2thg92/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0896_zps4f22fbaa.jpg then i put them on, and i've been driving pretty rough, surprisingly they dont rub, only on my pass side rear mudflap because one of the screws went MIA. but they actually look pretty nice IMO, makes the wagon sit a little higher and it looks like a wannabe outback haha http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc403/Mk2thg92/Mobile%20Uploads/20131202_192631_zps4b95ce3a.jpg and then i filled her up http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc403/Mk2thg92/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20131202_192748_zps42fd6ae4.jpg Edited December 4, 2013 by Ihada147

USLiberty
This week, everything in my drivers door took a crap, one at a time. First the key quit unlocking from the outside, then the door handle quit opening from the inside, and then the component speakers in the one door quit. Coincidence or conspiracy? LOL
mnstrmech
Finally got around to clearing the INSIDE of my headlamps, http://imageshack.us/a/img802/5773/26pk.jpg TOTAL pain-in-the-a&%....... sheesh. They dont look perfect, but i dont care. Now im just curious to the HID cutoff now.....

Idaho subaru
My automatic seatbelt on the drivers side decided to start working today, after more than two years of not working! Since I'm the one that opened the door when it started working, I'm going with " I fixed it"!

Idaho subaru
I've parked my '92 wagon in the same spot at work for 4 days now. Pretty happy about this sight. http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj605/Idahorec/7671D7CE-E214-43EE-B297-D76DE13BE3E7-610-000000D8586FB1FF_zps5e94619f.jpg
mnstrmech
Should put this under its own thread with all your pics, so it can be stickied. I would, but I don't have thorough pics of the job. I just tore into the job and got it done. I DID, however, got a pic of the "cutoff" with the cleared lenses. http://imageshack.us/a/img22/6675/p5ca.jpg No sharp cutoff like i see with other pics or even my friends Sedona with projectors. Even though i don't have before or after pics of the clear lenses, I suggest to anyone just save your time and DON'T clear the lens. No real difference to me. HOWEVER, the HID's are awesome. I feel they cut thru the snow and rain much better than halogens even though they are brighter. Better vision all around. On another note, i am working on an engine skid plate. i have a nice, large aluminum plate that will make a great plate. Im hoping it will give me some mpg..... That and hoping to keep things warmer in the engine bay this winter. Here in northern Indiana we already hit near 0 lows a couple times....... USLiberty
We hit 6° last week here in AZ, which is not what most people think of az for, lol. When you say clear the lens I'm assuming your sanding then clearcoating it? I've been using some scratch remover/polishing compound for lexan/plexiglass and its not getting my lenses very clear anymore. Which product is the best for headlight polishing? I've used a few different rubbing compounds, but to little success. Another friend destroyed his wrx... he barely survived this one after blacking out at the wheel. I will be helping part it out, it had a full jdm sti/6spd swap with the twinscroll turbo. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/IMG_20131210_163420_zpsabda2b68.jpg Edited December 14, 2013 by USLiberty
mnstrmech
We jsut got hit with at LEAST 8" of snow!! LOVE IT LOL.. My subie loves the snow... But as murphys law would have it, im planning on taking it out of town tomorrow and as i left the apartment today, all of a sudden the left rear strut is clunking. SUCKS. I knew it was leaking a bit, and wasnt making any louder than normal noise. PLus no local parts store stocks struts... Dam. im talking about clearing the INSIDE of the lens. Getting that "prismatic" look off. As far as the OUTSIDE of the lens, I've always had the best luck with elbow grease, e.i., sanding. Starting with around 300ish grit and working up to 2000 grit. THEN, finishing the job with Meguiars Plast-X (in a white bottle) and an electric buffer with foam pad. Works AMAZING. Of course the key to KEEPING them clear is Minwax Helsman Spar urathane and mineral spirits "concoction", as i call it lol.
USLiberty
Will have to try the meguiars, I've always put a lot of elbow grease and using 3M coarse polish with apolish ball. I haven't tried getting the sandpaper out but it looks like I will be. Yesterday I got an good alignment, 1° camber front, .5 rear with a 1/32" of toe in on the front. That made a huge difference since I was way out before. Then, today I installed some sti stainless brake lines to replace the rubber ones. what a difference that made! A ton more confidence under heavy braking.Id recommend doing SS brake lines before high performance brake pads. Now Im due for replacing my EBC green pads, but I might just go with centric pads this time. Been hearing good reviews for the price and I feel the ebc's were overrated. mnstrmech
back in may i installed Goodridge SS brake hoses with Akebono pads and centric rotors, AND a homemade master cylinder brace. GET a master cylinder brace, that is if ya wanna be thrown thru the windshield... LOL...

USLiberty
I was thinking of fabbing up a cylinder brace also, ill have to scan through and see how you did yours.

USLiberty
That's some nice work on that brake cylinder brace, I don't have the welding skills or tools to build my own. I found them on ebay for 18$ so ill just go with that.
monkeyposeur
Struts look great! $18 for an ebay brace?!? I want a couple! Time for a search. I've been reading a sweet book "Four Stroke Performance Tuning" by A. Graham Bell. Edit: link for the brace please.
bcmaxx
installed center diff lock switch, then played on a local fsr! http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee110/bcmaxx/20131213_210446_zps4e71f0b6.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee110/bcmaxx/20131213_210527_zps81720d13.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee110/bcmaxx/20131213_210947_zps1a8c3f79.jpg now to diagnose new steering play, and find out what came loose in rear strut top, hoping just loose shaft to plate nut. this things incerdible in the snow
mnstrmech
I just installed those struts this evening. Book time calls for 4.5 hours. I just did it in less than 2 hours. Outside, (no lift, just a floor jack), in the cold (about 25 degrees), in the snow, in the dark, with hand tools. Im such a mechanical beast... lol.
