roksax
Hi everyone, I've been searching for a replacement power steering pump, but everywhere seems to be out of stock. What's a good source for a replacement pump? I'd prefer not spend the $400+ for a new one.

DOHCstunr
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/power-steering-o-ring-fix-197481.html I would try this first. Cost me like $5. 10k miles later at 160,000 miles my p/s pump is whisper quiet and has zero issues. Wish i would have done this years ago.
roksax
Thanks guys. My google fu wasn't so strong today. I don't order a lot of maintenance parts online and all the places I was looking at said out of stock. I ended up ordering the pump online through autozone. I also called my subaru dealer and ordered the o-ring part. My symptoms seem to match what you're desribing in that post, so it's worth a shot for 2 bucks. Hopefully it fixes the problem and I can just take the pump back to autozone.
