DrSpeed
Car has 65,000 miles. In the last 2,000 miles, it's developed a squeak in the front suspension, when always under compression. Ex: hitting a speed bump at 3 mph that causes the suspenion to compress more than 1 inch. Happens regardless if it's one or both sides that compress. Not a high pitch squeek, sounds like a dulled, rubber on rubber with no lube squeek. I can't find it. Any advice? I didn't see any grease zirks under there. Stock suspension, Rallitek Swaway and endlinks. Thanks in advance. BANNED FROM THE TIKI FORUM.
SARCruiser
Sadly, all of the bushings on these cars are the "maintenance free" kind so no place to really lubricate something. Assuming from your post that it doesn't matter which side compresses it'll still squeak? My first thought would be a bad sway bar end link or bushing since that's the part of the suspension that "should" move regardless of the side compressing. I replaced both end links and bushings (actually the whole bar too) at 65k on my '06 and the stock ones were all in pretty bad shape. Since you have aftermarket sway and endlinks, I would still pull them and give them a thorough inspection before ruling them out.
bmx045
LCA bushings, sounds like a squishy rubber squeal in low speed hard bumps or the sway bar bushings need to be regreased
DrSpeed
Regreased the sway bar mounts (they have poly bushings with the own grease - I cleaned them up and threw in some Mobil 1 synthetic). How would I grease the LCA bushings, outside of removing the LCA's and pushing them out with a press? BANNED FROM THE TIKI FORUM.
bmx045
lol lca bushings are not greasable. they are disposable. lifespan of 50k miles. get whitelines
mustangendsley
Maybe your struts are done. Mine are and they diff squeek.
DrSpeed
The dampening on the struts on there, I'll check again tonight. As for the LCA bushings, do both front and rear? http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=W0506 http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=W53353 Anyone got a write up, and any vendors that sell both in a kit? bmx045
either way, if you see dark spots or rips in your oem lcs bushings you know they're gone. i believe its a 59mm press cup thats used to press it out of the lca.

scoobyscoodle
I would replace both bushings while you have the lca off. Do it once. IMO the offset positive caster lca bushings (hockey puck sized ones) are one of my favorite suspension mods to the car. As Myles from RCE has told me before, "caster is like sex and money, you can never have enough"

DrSpeed
Yep, figured if I had the whole sumbich apart, knock out both of them, especially when the front one is only 40 clams. bmx045
one of my best friends is the foreman at a subaru dealer and he pressed out the lca's for me in his machine, he said the smaller round ones are a BITCH because of the inability to stabilize the arm good

If you're going to take off the LCA, I recommend replacing the inners with Whiteline. I did mine and it made a nice improvement in turning response. Took mine down to a machine shop and they pressed all 4 out/in for $30 bucks. Well worth it. My wife's balls are delicious.
