Legacy82
I have a new motor for my 05 legacy gt right from subaru. I have roughly 700 miles on the new motor and turbo. Does anybody know the correct miles for the break in period.
gotsflat4love
There are millions of threads and discussions on this. Take it easy for the first couple thousand miles. I am sure an expert will chirp in.
Strizzy
For my motorcycles (and my new motor soon to be installed in my LGT), I usually run them pretty hard (WOT up to around 3-4k RPMs) to seat the rings as quickly as possible, for about the first 300-400 miles, and try to stay away from the highway and steady RPMs. Then I change the oil and put it through it paces for the next 500, change the oil and have fun as I normally would. My bad luck build

GTTuner
Your already past break-in. The first 50 miles are crucial to seating the rings.
turbopowerbaby
Curious as to what the dealer charged you for R in R of a new motor. I'm in need and trying to get a budgit going. Thanks
Legacy82
Umm I recently just bought the car from exeter subaru in Nh. It only had like 17 miles on the new motor when I got it. It came with a brand new factory motor, turbo and clutch. So im not exactly sure what it did cost. I talked to a few other dealers and they said right around 7-8 grand to fix one, estamated with out really knowing whats wrong.
