qiman
This is very interesting - you all probably know what a CDI spark looks like compared to a regular spark - actually a bit bigger but still nothing magical. This is a plasma ignition system that gives a HUGE plasma ball at the plug gap for the SAME power as a CDI!!! Youtube vid - can't figure out how to embed it??? qiman
I guess the forum automatically embeds it - never saw that before!

mwiener2
They last 60+k for the majority of people. This: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/okada-projects-coilover-plug-plasma-spark-subaru-legacy-p-29676.html coupled with this: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/okada-projects-coilover-plug-plasma-direct-subaru-legacy-p-29665.html same effect? underground000
They last 60+k for the majority of people. yea for most, but for some of us they look horrible (more than just dirty) after 30k. I saw a post about this on here before 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)
mwiener2
if your plugs aren't happy, then the engine isn't running right. Check air and fuel delivery, check the tune. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
qiman
Brisk Yttrium A-Line plugs (non resistor) are showing the best for these plasma ignitions. Does anyone know the firing POLARITY of the coils for the waste spark ignition and firing order? Probably the left side is one polarity and the other is the opposite. qiman
Haven't been here in years. Have a 2006 Outback XT 5-speed now to play with. Here is an old demo of what the plasma looks like on a EJ25. I did a whole presentation on the Wasted Spark Ignition - requires 2 coil packs in opposition to get the same polarity on all 4 plugs since the normal coil pack has HV + on one side and HV - on the other side. Other details, but in any case, eventually mastered it.
mwiener2
How much power do you get from the magnets on the air intake tube? My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
